Terms of Use
Last updated 4 October 2026
The agreement between you and Xonera: how the service works, what we expect from each other, and how billing, cancellation and refunds work.
Agreement
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Xonera Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Xonera", "we", "us") for your use of the Xonera website and app. By creating an account or using Xonera, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Xonera.
Who can use Xonera
You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you and is responsible for your use of Xonera. If you use Xonera for a school or organisation, you also confirm you are allowed to do so.
Your account
Give us accurate details, keep your sign-in private, and tell us at hello@xonera.xyz if you think someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or resold.
AI-generated content
Xonera uses artificial intelligence to create lessons, podcasts, quizzes, summaries and answers. AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important against your course material or another reliable source, especially before an exam.
Xonera is a learning tool. It is not professional advice, and it does not promise any particular grade or exam result. Use it in line with your school's rules on academic honesty.
The wellbeing features (focus sessions, breathing, mood check-in and worry dump) are study aids, not a medical or mental health service. If you are struggling, please contact a qualified professional or a helpline.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into Xonera: your uploads, notes and messages. You give us permission to store, process and display that content, and to send it to our service providers, only so we can run Xonera for you. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies we must keep by law.
Only upload material you have the right to use. Lessons generated for you are yours to use for your own learning.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- break the law, or upload content that is illegal, sexual, hateful or harmful;
- upload material that infringes someone else's rights;
- harass, threaten or impersonate others;
- try to get around usage limits, safety filters or payment, or trick the AI into ignoring its instructions;
- copy, scrape or resell Xonera, use it to build a competing product, or reverse engineer it;
- disrupt or overload Xonera, or try to access other people's accounts or data.
Automated moderation may block requests that break these rules. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
Plans and limits
Xonera has a Free plan and paid plans. Each plan's features and limits are shown in the app. Paid plans described as unlimited are subject to fair use, so that one account cannot degrade the service for everyone else. We may change plans and limits; changes to a paid plan you already have take effect from your next billing period.
Subscriptions, cancellation and refunds
Billing
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until you cancel. Prices include or exclude tax as shown at checkout. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it applies.
Free trial and promotions
Eligible new users can try paid features free for 7 days, once per account, without adding a card. Promotional codes, such as a first-year discount on the yearly plan, apply as described when you use them and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time in Settings, Payment. You keep paid access until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again. You can undo a cancellation before that date.
Changing plans
- Monthly to yearly takes effect immediately. You are charged for the yearly plan that day, minus a credit for the unused part of your month. The app shows the exact amount before you confirm.
- Yearly to monthly, and moving to Free, take effect at the end of your current period, with no charge on the day you switch.
Failed payments
If a renewal fails, we will email you and retry the payment. You keep paid access for 7 days while you update your card. If it is still unpaid after that, your account moves to the Free plan, and everything you have created stays.
Refunds
Payments are non-refundable, including for unused time after you cancel, except where the law requires a refund. If you believe you were charged in error, email us and we will look into it.
To ask about a charge, email hello@xonera.xyz from the address on your account. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days.
Our intellectual property
Xonera, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Xonera for your own learning, and no other rights.
Ending your use of Xonera
You can delete your account at any time in Settings; you then have 30 days to restore it before it is permanently deleted. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if payment fails, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will warn you first.
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Xonera accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data, opportunities or results, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Xonera changes. We will tell you about material changes by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Xonera after that, the new Terms apply.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and the courts of the State of Delaware have jurisdiction, without taking away any protection the law of your own country gives you. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to resolve the problem.
